Description

Are you a passionate and experienced professional with a proven track record of leading a HR service?  Do you want to work in a fast paced, innovative and customer focussed environment?  Can you deliver operationally whilst keeping an organisations wider strategy at the forefront of your delivery?  If so, we are currently recruiting for a HR Manager.

Situated in south Lincolnshire, and with excellent access to London, the Midlands and the North of England, South Kesteven has fabulous countryside, thriving market towns, a vibrant arts scene and an ambition to be the best district in which to live, work and visit. We are an ambitious Council with growth plans at the top of our agenda. We aim to be the high performing council that our residents deserve; one that attracts and retains the best staff to deliver high-quality services.

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, we are currently recruiting a HR professional with experience of leading and managing a team that will support the whole organisation in delivering our ambitious plans, who will develop and implement our new People Strategy and workforce plan. We are seeking an experienced leader with the ability to inspire and engage others, who can influence change and build relationships across the organisation and with partners. You will lead in the provision of an integrated, high performing, customer focused HR service to deliver, implement, and monitor HR change management projects and provide professional HR advise and support to colleagues across the Council, including Directors, the Chief Executive and elected Members.

We are not looking for specific sector experience, but are open to people’s backgrounds. What we are interested in is someone who can lead major cultural change, underpinned by sound HR advice and practice. If this is you, we would love to hear from you.

Here at South Kesteven District Council – we don’t just do 9 to 5, we actively encourage flexible and agile working! We believe that your work/life balance is important and vital to your success and happiness in the workplace.  We are committed to caring for our employees both inside and outside the workplace and provide a variety of benefits including:

  • A generous pension scheme.
  • Access to a range of health and wellbeing activities.
  • Travel season ticket loan and a variety of other staff/family friendly benefits and discounts.
  • Generous leave entitlement of 25 days (rising to 30 days after 5 years’ service).
  • Opportunities to progress and develop your career and skillset.
